HULICK, farmer, P. O. New Chester, was born on the farm where he now resides, in Straban Township, this county, January 7, 1840, a son of Jacob and Sarah (Monfort) Hulick; former a native of Pennsylvania, both of low Dutch origin. Latter died June 18, 1858. His father, a tanner in early life but later a farmer, died March 29, 1882; he came into possession of the farm in 1839 from the executor of David Demeree. Isaac N., the eldest of the family of two children, was reared on the farm, receiving his education in Hunterstown Academy. He engaged in farming and owns the farm of ninety-eight acres where he now resides, which is well improved and well stocked. In 1868, he married Elizabeth A. Haverstock, a daughter of Isaac Haverstock, who was a farmer and of German origin, and their children are as follows: Jacob M., Sarah Olive, William N., Mary Jane and John Luther. Mr. and Mrs. Hulick are members of the Lutheran Church. He is a Republican in politics.
