In her death we lament a more than ordinary loss: an event by its suddenness and attendant circumstances is particularly distressing. By it, two lovely infants besides other children, have been bereaved of a most valuable earthly friend; a husband, an amiable and affectionate wife and society of one much beloved. Possessing a more than ordinary measure of understanding associated with gentleness, and social habits and kind disposition she had the confidence and affection of a number of acquaintances. Her life according to her profession, appeared to be governed by the doctrine and laws of Christ while she filled up with cheerfulness the duties of life, she was mindful of death and valued chiefly “the hopes of the glory of God.” We sorrow not as those who have no hope.
