In the early part of his life, in the struggle with Great Britain, for our independence, he joined the army and stood the hard fought battles of his country at the Battle of Brandywine, where he received a severe wound, the effects of which he carried to the grave. Many attended, the following day, to pay the last tribute of respect to their departed favorite. His remains were interred in the Christ Church burying ground attended by Rev. J.H. Sentinel On Wednesday, 16th inst., Mrs. Sally McKesson, consort of William McKesson of Liberty Twp., passed from this vale of tears to another and, it is hoped, better world. She was in the 75th year of her age and had lived upwards of half a century with her partner, who survives her. He is left, in solitary old age, a monument of the cruelty of death. But few ladies displayed so much equanimity in their various relations of life as did the deceased; and few equaled her, in a placid reliance upon a merciful Providence for kind and continued protection.
