Mummasburg, April 5.- Last Friday evening the infant son of Amos and Ida Wolf died. The interment was at Arendtsville on Monday. "Ere sin could blight or sorrow fade, Death came with friendly care, The opening bud to heaven conveyed, And bade it blossome there." The public school at this place closed Wednesday of last week. Mr. Harry Hart has gone to Philadelphia, where he has secured employment. Misses Jennie Tate and Anna Beck, of Gettysburg, spent Sunday with their parents, at this place. Henry Deardorff, of Flora Dale, was in town on Sunday. Mrs. Jennie Plank, of Cumberland township, spent Monday with parents in this place. Sheriff's Sales. On Saturday Sheriff McIlhenny sold the following properties: Tract No. 1, of the Witherow properties in Cumberland township, containing 22 acres and a grist mill, to the Executors of David Wills for $800. Tract No. 2, containing 177 acres, improved with a stone house and barn, and other buildings to the same for $2100. Tract No. 3, in Freedom township, containing 66 acres, with frame house and stable, to Charles L. Toot for $825. The Peter Butler farm of 140 acres in Menallen township, improved with log house and barn, to George Albert for $1115. The H. C. Parsons farm in Cumberland township, containing 54 acres and improved with a stone house and log barn, to John B. McPherson for $1225. The John Mann house on West Middle street, Gettysburg, to P. F. Henning for $725. The Clayton C. Shull tract of 25 acres in Straban township, impoved with log weatherboarded house and fram stables, to Daniel Wampler for $485.
