Miss Margaret Crouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Emory Crouse, of East King street, and a nurse at a private santatarium, Ancon, Panama, on Dec. 7th underwent a successful operation for appendicitis. Messrs. Thomas Smith, of York, and Francis Smith, of Sparrows Point, and Miss Addie Smith, of McSherrystown, were guests several days this week of their brother, Mr. Robert J. Smith, and family, of Lumber street. Mr. Malcolm Buckey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer D. Buckey, of South Queen street, left Monday evening for Baltimore where he joined a party of four on a motor trip to Roland, N. C., where they will attend a convention of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. Miss Catherine Grau, of Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Daugherty and daughter Catherine, of York, and Master Earl McCann and sister Miss Myrna, of McSherrystown, spent the week-end with Mrs. Sarah Bittinger and family, of South Queen street. Those who spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Little, at Two Taverns, were: Mr. William Renner, wife and children Irma and Fred, of Kingsdale; Mrs. Annie Renner and sons Roy and Ernest, and Mr. Samuel Renner, wife and daughter Nadine, of this place. Word has been received here from Prof. C. Laurin March, of Long Island, N. Y., announcing his marriage, Christmas, to a Long Island girl. The professor is engaged in teaching. The telegram also announces that they are on their wedding tour through New York State. Prof. March is a brother of Mrs. Roy D. Knouse, of East King street, and attended the local High School. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen J. March, of Abbottstown. Adams County Independent – Friday, December 30, 1921
