Hiram Showers spent Friday with Andrew McKendrick and family. Miss Mary Martin and Robert Martin spent Sunday with friends in Gettysburg. Miss Dora Showers visited Mr. and Mrs. David Showers, on Sunday. Messrs. Norbert and James Oyler, and Mr. Cunningham, spent Sunday afternoon with Parker Kline and family. Mr. Elmer Lobaugh and family spent a day recently with Charles Lobaugh and family. Miss Minnie Showers spend Sunday with E. C. Showers and family. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lobaugh, daughter Maybell and son Russell, spent Thursday afternoon with H. L. Fair and family, of Bendersville. Those present every days at Boyd’s school, Menallen township, for the month of December, were: Ira Lobaugh, Calvin Wallace, Lucille Cole, Dora Showers, Edna Kline, Minnie Showers and Verna Lobaugh. Geo. H. Funt, Teacher. NEWS HAPPENINGS OF NEW OXFORD – New Oxford, Jan. 12 – Mr. W. A. Deihl was on the sick list a few days the past week. Mr. Curtis E. Deihl made two trips to Baltimore last week, taking to that city two truck loads of produce. Wm. D. Himes was in York this week attended a stockholders’ meeting of the York Trust Company. Mrs. John Longenecker, of Govans, Md., who spent the holiday season with her brother, Charles K. Yeager, and family, returned to her home last Thursday. Mrs. Ellen Peters, who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Neely Dicks, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Warner spent Sunday in Hanover as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Krug. Allen Deihl, who is engaged in civil engineering at Steubenville, Ohio, spent the holiday season with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Deihl, Lincoln Way West. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Holiday, of Hanover, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John C. Myers, Lincoln Way West. Mrs. Georgia Kreager, of New Chester, is spending some time with her niece, Mrs. Milton Ehrhart, of near town.
