Herr, of Savannah, Georgia has arrived in Hanover and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Thoman, of 583 Broadway. Mr. Herr’s early home was in Gettysburg where his parents died when their son was quite young. As a youth he was employed with the Thoman family at Abbottstown with whom he lived for a period of three years. After which he learned the milling trade and later located in Savannah, Ga. For a number of years he was employed with the American can Company as a die-setter and in charge of the machine department, assembling and adjusting machinery.
