Mr. Palmer is unquestionably one of the greatest mechanical geniuses Penssylvania has ever produced, and his railroad devices and inventions are all of the greatest practicability and usefulness in their life, and labor-savings, comprehension., Contrary to the general experience of famous inventors, Mr. Palmer has thus far falled in realizeing any substantial pecuniary benifit from his numerous excellent inventins, although in general use, attributable to the "pirating" and infringements upon some of his leading railroad devices by unprincipled parties, who reaped the golden harvest resulting from his skill and labor.
