Baughman Gettysburg- Word has been received of the death of the Rev. Dr. Harry L. Baughman, president emeritus of the Lutheran Theological Seminary here. Dr. Baughman, 88, died Friday in Philadelphia. He received his pre-college education New Windsor College in new Windsor, Md. His family was associated with Uniontown, Md. He served parishes in Keyser, W. Va., and Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. In 1940, he was called to be Professor of Preaching at Gettysburg, a position he held until his retirement in 1962. In 1950, Dr. Baughman was elected president of the Seminary. He served the United Lutheran Church in America as a member of its executive board, board of publication, board of deaconess work and court of adjudication. He was an author and lecturer. He is survived by his wife, Joretha L. Baughman; and a son, Peter F. Baughman of Philadelphia. The Evening Sun Wednesday, July 16, 1980
