Died – At her home, in Mountjoy township, Dec. 31, 1887, Mrs. Sophia M., wife of Andrew H. 
Beitler, aged 49 years and 7 days.  Mrs. Beitler was a kind wife and mother, a considerate and 
helpful friend and neighbor, a consistent and active member of the church, her words and 
example being always on the right line and on the side or purity and truth.  She is greatly 
missed in her family, where the place made vacant by her departure can never be filled – in the 
neighborhood and in the church.  Funeral services were held in St. Mark’s church, Jan. 2d, by 
the pastor, Rev. T. J. Barkley, assisted by Rev. John Trostle, in the presence of a large and 
sympathetic audience.  She rests in peace.                                              B.
