Brumgard died at his home on Charles street at 1:30 o’clock Monday morning from a complication of diseases, aged 55 years, 2 months and 11 days. He was a concrete contractor, a former merchant and a former proprietor of the Hotel Huff. He was a member of Washington Camp, 386, P. O. S. of A., and of Catoctin Tribe, 129, I. O. R. M. Mr. Brumgard was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Brumgard. Surviving are his wife, who before marriage was Miss Kate Bucher; one son, I. S. Brumgard, treasurer of the Littlestown Savings Institution; and three daughters, Misses Myrtle, Roxie and Vivian, all at home, and two grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Henry Bechtel, Hanover, and a brother, John A. Brumgard, Union township, also survive. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the house, Rev. H. C. Bergstresser officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Adams County Independent, Thursday, October 20, 1922
