The Chronicle reports in Saturday’s issue the sudden death of Mr. Henry Cromer,
residing near Mt. Joy Church, in Adams county, Pa., about 4 miles from Emmitsburg.  
He made a call at Mr. Hill’s, residing on his son’s farm on Tuesday, and Mr. Hill, 
being absent, he engaged in a short conversation with Mrs. H. and then remarked that 
he would go home, and started for his horse that had been hitched in the wagon shed.  
A few minutes afterward, on looking out the door, Mrs. H. saw the horse still
standing in the shed with a blanket over him, thinking this was singular, she went 
there, and was horrified to find Mr. Cromer lying dead.  Heart disease is supposed 
have been the cause of his death.  He was aged about 74 years.
