Mr. Deardorff had been ill for several years and a greater part of the time was bedfast. The deceased had been a successful farmer, owning from time to time a number of farms within a short distance of this place. As a farmer he had last occupied the farm property within borough limits near the McMillan property and from there moved to the York street property. From the successful management of his farms he had saved a competency which provided for those years when he had turned the last decade to the century mark. Mr. Deardorff came of a family many of whom reached good ages and is survived by a brother, Benjamin Deardorff, of Beechersville. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon, Rev. Dr. J. A. Clutz conducting the services with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. The deceased outlived four wives and leaves four children, Anthony Deardorff, of York Springs, Isaac Deardorff of Mummasburg, Mrs. Annie Wilson of this place, and Mrs. Emma Slaybaugh in the West.
