February 18, 1943 DEATHS Edward E. Ditenhafer Edward E. Ditenhafer, 79, died at his home in New Oxford, Monday morning at 3 o'clock. Death followed an illness of some time. Mr. Ditenhafer was a son of the late John and Anna Ditenhafer and was a well known painter until his retirement several years ago. Surviving him are three step-brothers, Mervin Leakway and Benjamin Leakway, Lancaster county, and George Leakway, York, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the W. A. Feiser funeral home, Carlisle street, Hanover, the Rev. Dobbs F. Ehlman, pastor of the New Oxford-Abbottstown Reformed chargek officiating. Interment in the New Oxford cemetery. Pallbearers were James C. Herman, William Shutter, A. P. Markle, Jacob Griffin, Charles Rinehart and Harry E. Lough. Additional Comments: The three step-brothers mentioned are actually the sons of Edward Ditenhafer's half-brother, John F. Leakway.
