The deceased was aged 70 years, 3 months and 29 days. The cause of death was dropsy and heart trouble, from which he had been a sufferer for the past several years. Mr. Ditenhafer’s first wife, a Miss brown, of York county, died about fifty-five years ago. Some years after he death he married again, and his present wife survives, with their son, Edward. One grandson, George, also survives; as do a step-son, John Lickney, of Windsorville, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucy Ditenhafer, of Paradise, York county. Mr. Ditenhafer was a miller by trade, and in his early life resided in York county, later removing to New Oxford. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, March 22, 1913
