All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ Emma Caroline Felty Following an illness of less than a week from grippe and hypistalic congestion of the lungs, Miss Emma Caroline Felty, one of Hanover’s most estimable ladies, died at the home of her brother, George W. Felty, No. 235 Baltimore street, last Saturday evening at 5:45 o’clock. She was aged 57 years, 2 months and 23 days. The deceased was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah (Spangler) Felty and was born in Union township, Adams county, November 6, 1858. Her early life was spent in Adams county, coming to Hanover about twenty years ago. Miss Felty was an active and devoted member of Trinity Reformed church since residing here, and a regular attendant at Sunday school being a member of Prof. Charles Albright’s class. For the past fifteen years she was employed in the vamping department of the Hanover shoe factory, where she had many friends among her fellow workers. She leaves two brothers, George W. Felty, of Baltimore street, and Harry Felty, of New Oxford; and one sister, Mrs. Abram Keagy, of Littlestown; also five nephews and five nieces. Funeral Tuesday, February 1, services at the house at 1:30 p.m. her pastor, Rev. M. J. Roth, officiating. Interment on the Felty lot in Christ church cemetery, near Littlestown.
