Mrs. Jacob Goodenberger

Mrs. Magdalena Goodenberger, wife of Jacob Goodenberger, former director of the poor of Adams 
county, died Dec. 31, at her home, Berwick township, Adams county, near Abbottstown, in the 
same house in which she was born.  She was aged 70 years, 2 months and 28 days.  Death was 
caused by cancer after she had been confined to her bed for 14 weeks.

Mrs. Goodenberger was widely known in Adams county and was a life long member of the Lutheran 
church at Abbottstown.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Bortner and Mrs. Emma Berkheimer, both of York, and one 
son, Lewis Goodenberger, of Thomasville.  She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. George Wilkinson, 
Mrs. Mary Nagle and Mrs. George Moul, all of near Abbottstown.

Funeral Tuesday, Jan. 4, services at the house at 9:30 a.m. and further services in the 
Lutheran church at Abbottstown.  Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
