She had been for some weeks laboring under great depression of spirits, caused, it is thought, by previous religious excitement, and her friends were not without apprehension. During Monday night she was missed from her bed, and, upon search being made, her body was found lying head-foremost in a rain vessel near the house. Life was extinct. The deceased leaves a husband and three little daughters to mourn her melancholy end. She was a loving and dutiful wife, an affectionate mother, and a kind neighbor. Highly respected in life, her loss is deeply deplored. Some weeks previous to death, her mind became impaired in regard to her future state, though rational on all other subjects. On Wednesday the remains of the deceased were buried in New Oxford. Though she belonged to another communion, the funeral services were performed by Rev. W. F. P. Davis, of the German Reformed Church, yip spoke appropriately and impressively from the text, Matt. 27: 40, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me ?" and improved the occasion by warning his hearers against all undue excitements, whether of a religious or any other character.
