Mrs. Upton Harner

Mrs. Mary Jane Harner, wife of Upton Harner, died at her home, a mile north of 
Littlestown, Thursday, Sept. 12 from acute gastritis, after an illness of three 
and a half weeks, aged about 59 years.

Deceased’s maiden name was Miss Mary Jane Sheridan, and her home was near 
Philadelphia.  Since her marriage to Mr. Harner they have lived near Bethel 
Church up until two years ago, when they moved to the present place of 
residence.  She is survived by her husband and three daughters, as follows:  
Mrs. Mervin Wintrode, of Germany township; Mrs. Harry Messinger, of Hanover; and 
Mrs. Herbert Motter, of near Silver Run.  Also, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie 
McSherry, of Littlestown.

Funeral Sunday, Sept 15, from the house at 9:30 a.m.  Services and interment at 
St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. I. M. Lau officiating.
