Mr. Heagey was a well known farmer. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Heagey, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Cronise, of near Frederick; three sons and three daughters: Dr. Henry F. C. Heagey, of Cockranville; George W. G. Heagey, of Gettysburg; J. R. R. Heagey, of Frederick; Mrs. Annie R. I. Seiss, of Graceham, Md.; Mrs. Elmira M. J. Rouzer, of York; Mrs. Hannah M. C. Reigle, of Bendersville and nineteen grandchildren: Dr. F. W. Heagey, Miss Annie R. Heagey, Mrs. Susan Miller, Misses M. Bell and Mamie I. Seiss, Willis Weiss, William H. Rouzer, Harvey W. Rouzer, Mrs. Esta Wilson, Mrs. Grace Moose, Mrs. Annie Goodermuth, Annie W. H. and Curtis Heagey, May, Bertha, Edna, Ruth and Chandler Heagey, Four great grandchildren also survive, Frank Wilson, Ruth and Mary Seiss and Sarah Miller. Mr. Heagey also leaves two sisters and one brother, Miss Mary A. Heagey and Calvin G. Heagey, of Gettysburg; and Mrs. Jane Kready, of Orrtanna. Interment in Evergreen cemetery, Gettysburg." ________________________ Heagey, Rebecca Cronise Heagey Ð 2 May 1927 Frederick Post (newspaper) Mrs. Rebecca Heagey, widow of Jacob Heagey, late of Adams County, Pa., died Friday after a brief illness of a complication of diseases, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver F. Rouzer, 41 Pearl St., York, Pa., aged 96 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was the last surviving child of Frederick and Anna (Nicodemus) Cronise, who resided near Lewistown, Frederick county, where she was born, and after her marriage she resided in Adams county, until the death of her husband in 1912. She was a member of the Reformed church. Surviving her are a son, Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, Cockranville, Pa.; Mrs. A. R. I. Seiss, Graceham; Mrs. E. M. J. Rouzer and Mrs. H. M.C. Reigle, York, Pa., a son. G. W. G. Heagey, Gettysburg, Pa., a son, J. R. R. Heagey, Frederick. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Heagey was believed to be the oldest resident of York county, Pa. Funeral today with brief services at her late home 41 Pearl St., York, Pa., at 9 a.m. and further services at the home of her son, G. W. G. Heagey, 21 Steinwehr Av., Gettysburg, Pa., at 1:30 p.m. the Reformed pastors officiating. "Mrs. Alice (Lady) Heagey, 65, wife of George W. G. Heagey, died at her home in Gettysburg, Thursday morning of complications. Surviving besides her husband are seven daughters and two sons: Mrs. Robert A. Wilson, Earl W. Heagey, Mrs. William Moose, Mrs. John Goodermuth, Mrs. Charles McKinney, Mrs. Edna Mundorff, all of Gettysburg; Mrs. I. G. Fair, Aspers; Mrs. George Middleton, Laurel Springs, New Jersey, and Curtis F. Heagey, Colorado Springs, Colorado. One sister, Miss Laura Lady of Gettysburg; 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday." ________________________ Heagey, Jesse F. R. Ð 1933 Gettysburg Times Ð July 14, 1933 Atty. Jesse Heagey, of Frederick, Suffers heart Attack on Thursday - Attorney Jesse F. R. Heagey, of Frederick, and a native of Adams county, died at the Frederick city hospital at 5 oÕclock Thursday evening at the age of 59 years. Mr. Heagey was operated upon for appendicitis on July 5 and appeared to be regaining his health when he was seized with a heart attack and expired late Thursday afternoon. The deceased was a son of the late Jacob and Rebecca Cronise Heagey, of Table Rock. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, Cockranville, Pennsylvania; G. W. G. Heagey, Gettysburg; Mrs. D. L. Seisss, Graceham, Maryland; Mrs. O. F. Rouzer, of York, and Mrs. H. S. Reigle, of Gettysburg. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Heagey practiced law in Frederick for the past 35 years. Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 oÕclock at Evangelical Reformed church, Frederick, with interment in the Evergreen cemetery, Gettysburg, about 4:15 oÕclock, the Rev. E. W. Brindle officiating. Mr. Heagey was a member of the Biglerville Reformed church. ________________________ Reigle, Hannah M. C. Heagey Ð Star & Sentinel, Gettysburg, PA Ð April 30, 1938 Mrs. Hannah M. C. Reigle, 76, 333 Baltimore street, widow of Harvey Reigle, died Saturday evening at 6:15 oÕclock of a complication of diseases. She had been ill for several months and had been a patient at the hospital for the last five weeks. A native of Butler township, near Table Rock, Mrs. Reigle was a daughter of the late Jacob and Rebecca (Cronise) Heagey. She was reared in that section and lived for many years in Bendersville. Since the death of Mr. Reigle in 1924, had resided in Gettysburg. She was a member of the Bendersville Lutheran church. Surviving are these brothers and sisters: Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, Conchranville, Pa.; Mrs. D. L. Seiss, Graceham, Maryland; Mrs. O. F. Rouzer, York, and G. W. G. Heagey, 21 Steinwehr avenue. Funeral services from the Deatrick brothers funeral home on Baltimore street Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 oÕclock with the Rev. Dr. O. D. Coble, pastor of the deceased, officiating. Rouzer Ð Mrs. Elmira Rouzer, 87, widow of Oliver F. Rouzer, died Tuesday morning at 9:30 oÕclock in a hospital, at Northampton, Pa. Mrs. Rouzer was a native of Adams county, a daughter of the late Jacob and Rebecca (Chronise) Heagey. She resided with her son Harvey, of Palmerton. Last June she spent two weeks here visiting her brother, George W. G. Heagey, Steinwehr avenue. Surviving are two sons, Harvey, with whom she resided, and William, Whittier, Calif., and two brothers, George W. G. Heagey, Steinwehr avenue, and Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, Cockranville, Pa. Funeral services Saturday afternoon at 2 oÕclock from the Bender funeral home conducted by the Rev. George E. Miller, York. Interment in Evergreen cemetery." ________________________ Heagey, Henry F. C. Ð 1949 Gettysburg Times, Oct. 8, 1949 "Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, 92, Dies In Lancaster Ð Dr. H. F. C. Heagey, 92, native of Adams county, who practiced medicine for 66years in Cochranville, Pa., died Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., in St. JosephÕs hospital in Lancaster from infirmities of age. Born in Freedom township, Doctor Heagey was a son of the last Jacob and Rebecca Heagey and lived for a number of years in the Biglerville-Table Rock section. He attended the Millersville State TeacherÕs college and the Jefferson medical college. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Susan Miller, at home, and Mrs. Annie Williams, Pittsburgh. There are 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One brother, G. W. G. Heagey, Steinwehr avenue, also survives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 oÕclock at BrownÕs funeral home at Christiana, Pa., with interment in a nearby cemetery." ________________________ Heagey, George W. G. Ð 1951 Gettysburg Times Ð February 15, 1951 George Washington Grant Heagey, 86, died at his Steinwehr Ave. home after an illness of a year. He was a battlefield guide for over 40 years. Mr. Heagey was born in Butler Twp. Near Table Rock on May 26, 1864, son of the late Jacob and Rebecca Cronise Heagey. His wife, Alice E. Lady, died 26 Feb 1932. Mr. Heagey followed the wagon making trade for 25 years, conducting a wagon shop on Franklin Street. Surviving children are Mrs. Robert Wilson, Mrs. John Goodermuth, Mrs. William Moose, Mrs. Edna Mundorff, and Earl Heagey, all of Gettysburg, Mrs. Ida Fair, Fairfield, Curtis of Colorado, Mrs. Charles Wilson of NJ, plus 39 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren." ________________________
