Accompanying the body of his wife, Mrs. Josephine Heilman, who died last Thursday at the home of her son Robert, on a ranch near Stevensville, Mont., John M. Heilman arrived in Hanover Wednesday after a transcontinental journey of over 2,000 miles. Mrs. Heilman, who was about 61 years old, left the Cleveland ranch, which is managed by her husband, last Thursday morning, and accompanied by the wife of a tenant, went to the ranch of her son, two miles away, to purchase a supply of butter. Shortly after noon, while assisting her daughter-in-law with her household duties, she was seized with an attack of apoplexy and died about an hour later. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Harry Heilman, McAllister street extended at 9 o’clock Thursday, May 4. The funeral cortege then proceeded to Abbottstown, the birthplace of the deceased woman and her place of residence for many years. Concluding services were held in the Abbottstown Lutheran church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. F. C. Sternat officiating. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, May 6, 1916
