Hewitt David Hewitt, of Bendersville, Adams county, died at the city hospital, Harrisburg, July 6, aged 68 years, 4 months and 7 days. He had been a patient at Harrisburg for several weeks following an attack of apoplexy. He was postmaster of Bendersville for a number of years. Through his occupation of huckstering he established a wide acquaintanceship in Adams county and other counties. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, of Arendtsville. He leaves one son, George Hewitt, of Philadelphia; two brothers and one sister, Zacharias Hewitt, Iowa; Jacob Hewitt, of near Bonneauville, and Mrs. Orndorff, of near Gettysburg.
