William Ickes

William Ickes, of Midway, died Sunday, June 26, at 9:15 A. M., of gastric catarrh, after a 
week’s illness, aged about 55 years.

Deceased was a cigarmaker and a member of Cigarmakers Union No. 316, of McSherrystown.  He is 
survived by his wife, whose maiden name was Miss Emma Alabaugh, of Midway, and one daughter, 
Mrs. Catharyn Hostetter, of High Street, this place.

Two sisters also survive – Mrs. Louise Yingling and Mrs. Noah Wareheim, both of Carroll County, 
Md.

Funeral, Wednesday, June 29, at 9 A. M., services at the house.  Interment in Mt. Olivet 
Cemetery, Rev. Dr. J. C. Koller, officiating.
