Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Jacobs, wife of John C. L. JACOBS, died at her home in 
Arendtsville last Friday, August 18, from a paralytic stroke, aged 59 years, 6 
months and 18 days.  She leaves in addition to her husband the following 
children: Mrs. Reuben ROTH and Lawrance Jacobs, of Arendtsville, Mrs. George 
SPONG, Mrs. Arthur MELIGAN, Mrs. Michael SAXINGER, Ida and Erma Jacobs of 
Lancaster, Kathryn, Eva and Marie, at home.  She also leaves the following 
brothers and sister: Calvin ARENDT of Arendtsville, Hanson Arendt of Texas, I. 
K. Arendt of Lebanon, H. J. Arendt of York, Mrs. Sherman PLANK of Pittsburgh.  
The funeral services were held at the home Monday, interment being made in 
Evergreen Cemetery.
