Mr. Jacobs was taken to the University of Pennslvania Hospital, Philadelphia, where he spent a month, but upon examination it was found that the cancer had reached such a stage that an operation was deemed of no avail. He was then brought back to his home about 10 days ago. He was aged 57 years, 8 months and 18 days, and is survived by his wife, who was Mrs. Emma Randall, and the following children: Clarence E. Jacobs, of Red Lion; Ethel Jacobs, of Jersey City, N.J.; Mrs. Reid Eppleman, of West King street, Stewart Jacobs and Ellis Jacobs, at home. Also by his father, Samuel Jacobs, of Lancaster; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Adams, of Lumber street and Mrs. Savilla Wise, of Lancaster, and one brother, Benj. Jacobs of Columbia. The funeral will be held on Friday morning with services at the house at 8 o’clock by Rev. C. H. Campbell, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. The funeral cortege will then go to Yorkanna, where further services will be held in the United Evangelical church. Interment will be made at Yorkanna.
