Mrs. Catharine Pitzer Kauffman died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Emanuel 
Trostle in York Springs, Sunday evening aged about 79 years.  Death was due to 
gangrene of the foot from which the deceased had been afflicted for the past 
month.  Mrs. Kauffman was born near Gettysburg and was the last surviving member 
of a family of eight children.  She was married to Wm. Kauffman and they resided 
for many years along the Fairfield road in Cumberland township.  He died about 
seven years ago and since that time she has made her home in York Springs.
