He was a son of Jacob King, deceased, of Hunterstown. He is survived by a wife who is living with relatives in Hunterstown. For the last eight years the deceased had been employed as a battlefield guide by John E. Hughes, proprietor of the City Hotel. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served three years at Fortress Monroe, with Battery C, 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o’clock, with services in the hall of Post 9, G. A. R. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery with the honors of war. A squad from the Gettysburg Guards, commanded by Captain Mertz, will file the volley over the grave. Gettysburg Compiler – Wednesday, December 31, 1902
