Sarah J. Lawrence

Sarah Jane Lawrence, of McSherrystown, died at the York hospital Saturday morning, March 1st, at 10 o’clock, following an 
operation for an internal abscess.  She was aged 45 years.

The remains were brought to Hanover on the 7:20 p.m. over the N. C. R. Saturday evening and taken to her late home.

The deceased was ill but a few days, having been taken to the hospital the Thursday previous, in a critical condition, an 
immediate operation being the only hope for saving her life.

She was a daughter of the late David and Harriet Lawrence, of McSherrystown, and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward 
Willet, of South street, McSherrystown, with whom she resided; also, three brothers, Ignatius Lawrence, of McSherrystown; 
Joseph and Gregory Lawrence, of Conewago township; three sisters, Mrs. Vincent Myers, Carlisle street, Hanover; Mrs. M. H. 
Hemler, McSherrystown, and Mrs. Harry Adams, Mt. Pleasant township.

Funeral Tuesday, March 4th, from St. Mary’s church, mass of requiem at 9 a.m., Rev. L. Aug. Reudter officiating.  Interment on 
the family lot in Conewago chapel cemetery.

There will be a special car at the church for friends and relatives.
