Mrs. Maria Markle, widow of Jacob Markle, died at her home in Reading township 
on Sunday, April 12, from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy, aged 62 years, 8 
months and 19 days.  She was stricken the night of April 4th and had been 
unconscious from that time until her death.  Her husband died two years ago.  
The funeral was on last Wednesday morning, services by Rev. Dr. W. A. Korn, 
interment at Lutheran church graveyard, Abbottstown.  She leaves four daughters 
and four sons, Mrs. Sarah Stambaugh, of Berlin Junction, Mrs. Mary Geesey of La 
Bott, York Co., Mrs. Bertha Feiser of New Oxford, Miss Jennie and Albert at 
home, George Markle, of Mechanicsburg, Peter of Bowlder, and Luther of Hampton.
