Death of Squire Markley

The death of Daniel H. Markley, of York Springs, removes another widely known 
Adams county resident.  Mr. Markley for some years was engaged in the mercantile 
business at Idaville, but more recently had been residing in York Springs, where 
he had been a Justice of the Peace for 25 years.  He was a veteran of the Civil 
War and a man prominently identified with the life of the various communities in 
which he resided.
