By reason of her declining health she spent much of her time in her bed room and on Saturday evening while sitting near the stove in her room her clothing took fire. No one else was in the room at the time and when the family rushed to her help the clothing had been burnt from her body and she lingered until about 5 o’clock of the morning of her birthday. Her husband, James H. Marshall, who had been a County Commissioner and a member of the Legislature from this county, died a number of years ago. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon with interment at Marsh Creek Graveyard. She is survived by one son and two daughters, W. C. D. Marshall of Hamiltonban, Mrs. Landis of Fairfield and Mrs. Clem Rhodes of Mercersburg. Three sisters survive, Mrs. Sarah Blythe of Fairfield, Mrs. Jennie Boyd and Mrs. Elizabeth Rankin of Mercersburg. Gettysburg Compiler – Wednesday, April 22, 1908
