Farmer Dies Within Few Hours After Stroke Arendtsville, Nov. 17. – While husking corn on the farm of Simon Orner, near Biglerville, last Thursday morning, John Miller, well-known resident of Butler township, near here, suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused his death at 3:10 the same afternoon. He was 68 years, 4 months and 25 days old. Mr. Miller went to the farm of Mr. Orner early in the morning between six and seven o’clock. He immediately went to the field, where at half past ten he was found lying unconscious on the ground. It was not known how long before that he had suffered the stroke and he was immediately rushed to his home, but he never regained consciousness. Mr. Miller was well known as a musician and an active worker in the Arendtsville Reformed Church, of which he was a life-long member. Beside his wife he is survived by four sons: Clayton B., of Biglerville; Harvey W., near McKnightstown; Ernest, at home, and John P., of Biglerville R. D. One grandchild also survives. Funeral services were held Sunday morning from his late home, conducted by Rev. T. C. Hesson. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Adams County Independent, November 18, 1921
