All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ George Mummert, 61, a painter, who formerly resided in Bendersville and Hanover, died suddenly at his home in Hampton at 7:30 o'clock, Thursday morning, of a heart attack. He was in apparently good health, Wednesday evening, when he attended a festival at Hampton. He became ill Thursday morning, shortly after he arose, and died within a few minutes. Dr. E. A. Miller, Adams county coroner, who was called, issued a death certificate. Mr. Mummert, who resided in Bendersville a number of years ago, moved to Hampton from Hanover two months ago. While living in Hanover, he played with the P. O. S. of A. band for more than ten years. Mr. Mummert is survived by his widow and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Agnes Elliker and Howard Mummert, both of Hanover; Mrs. John Harmon, New Oxford; John Mummert, York Springs, and Jacob Mummert, Iowa. Funeral services Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home, with burial at Bendersville.
