He was a member of Co. D, 76th Pennsylvania Volunteers, and is survived by his wife, three sons, Howard, Harry and Elmer Mummert, of McSherrystown, and one daughter, Mrs. Alverta Owings, of York. He is also survived by three brothers, Mathias Mummert, of Conewago township, Adams county; Daniel Mummert, of near Blooming Grove; George Mummert, of Hanover, and three sisters, Mrs. Susan Trone, of Parkville; Mrs. Rebecca Wildasin, of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Charles P. Weissig, of Orchard street, Hanover. Funeral Sunday, September 17, services at St. Paul's Lutheran church, McSherrystown, at 1:30 p.m., Rev. C. W. Baker, pastor, officiating.
