Tabor, Nov. 2. – John L. Murtoff, of Menallen township, died suddenly Saturday evening, aged 72 years, 5 months and 23 days. He ate a hearty supper and complained of no illness until he was fatally stricken with paralysis. He had been an invalid for 29 years. He was a son of the late Moses and Elizabeth Murtoff, formerly of Mt. Tabor. Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters: L. Harry Murtoff, Boiling Springs; Mrs. Parker Kump, Gardners, R. D. 1; Calvin J. Murtoff, Gardners, R. D. 2; Mrs. Roy Delp, Idaville, and Roy A. Murtoff, of Gardners, R. D. 1. Two brothers, Levi Murtoff, of Bendersville, and A. H. Murtoff, of Carlisle, survive. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon with services at the United Brethren church. Interment at Mt. Tabor. Adams County Independent, Littlestown, PA, November 3, 1922
