Noel, a retired farmer, died at his late home, No. 3 Ridge Ave., at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, following a prolonged illness from a complication of diseases. He was aged 77 years, 2 months and 29 days. The deceased was a son of the late Peter and Katie (Myers) Noel. On January 10, 1878, he was married to Miss Emma Ream, of Perry county. The ceremony was performed in Harrisburg by the Rev. Fr. McBride. Most of their married life was spent of the farm in Adams county. Twelve years ago Mr. Noel retired, owing to ill health. The family moved to Hanover early this Spring. He leaves his wife and three children, James Noel, of Straban township, Adams county; William F. and Harry E. Noel, at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Julia Noel, of Straban township, and Mrs. Amanda Breighner, of Emmitsburg, Md., and one brother, Joseph Noel, of St. Edward, Nebraska, also survive. Mr. Noel was a veteran of the Civil war, having served for ten months in Company F, of the 165th Regiment Pennsylvania militia. Funeral, Saturday, Aug. 5, meeting at the house at 8:30 a.m., requiem high mass in St. Joseph’s church at 9 o’clock, Very Rev. James A. Huber officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
