Noel died at her home at Bonneauville, Thursday, January 12. She was aged 83 years, 1 month and 23 days. While walking about her home early in December, Mrs. Noel tripped over a rug and fell heavily to the floor breaking her leg between the hip and the knee. Mrs. Noel was born and raised in Union township, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Landis. In 1851 she was married to Morgan H. Swope, who died in 1865. In 1869 her marriage to Dr. A. Noel took place. Dr. Noel died in 1905. Three children were born to the first marriage: Wellington Swope, Gettysburg, Landis Swope, Bonneauville, and Frank Swope, who lives in the West. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. She leaves one brother, John Landis, Brook, Indiana. Funeral Sunday morning at 10 o’clock, services at the house, Rev. W. R. Glen, pastor of the Salem U. B. church of which deceased was a member officiating. Interment at Mt. Carmel cemetery, Littlestown. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, January 22, 1916
