Oaster died at his home in Edgegrove on Wednesday, July 19, at 11 a.m., after an illness of one year from heart trouble. He was aged 62 years, 4 months and 10 days. The deceased was a son of the late Adam Oaster, of McSherrystown, and was a widower, his wife having died 23 years ago. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Gertrude Noel, Mrs. Rebecca Ackerman, Mrs. Lucy Lawrence and Edw. Oaster, of McSherrystown; Mrs. Clara Long, at home; William Oaster, of Pittsburgh, and Simon Oaster, of Philadelphia. Also, eight grandchildren and three brothers and one sister survive, Miss Cecelia Oaster and John Oaster, of McSherrystown; Adam Oaster, of Philadelphia, and George Oaster, of Muncie, Indiana. Funeral from Conewago chapel, Saturday morning, requiem mass at 9 o’clock, Rev. Charles Koch officiating. Interment in the chapel cemetery. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, July 22, 1916
