Orendorff, 84 Years, Victim of Blood Poisoning From Injury Blood poisoning resulting from injuries sustained when he fell down a flight of stairs at the home of his son, John B. Orendorff, in York, last Tuesday morning, caused the death Aug. 15th, of Francis A. Orendorff, 84 years old. His fall was attributed to an attack of vertigo. Mr. Orendorff was a native of Adams county and resided in the vicinity of East Berlin until about 10 years ago, when, following the death of his wife he removed to York and took up his residence with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Gross. About two weeks ago he went to the home of his son John B. Orendorff, intending to spend several weeks with his family. The accident which caused his death followed. He leaves three children, John B. Orendorff, Mrs. Denton Little, and Mrs. Augustus Gross, of York. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive. Mr. Orendorff was well known throughout Adams county, having been actively engaged in politics in that county during his earlier life. He was a school director of Reading Township, Adams County, for a period of 20 years. Funeral services at his son’s residence this evening at 7:30 o’clock. Leaving at 7:30 o’clock Thursday morning the funeral cortege will proceed to East Berlin where further services will be held in the Reformed church. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
