Jacob Palmer, of near Two Taverns, in Mountjoy twp, his son, Charles, and latter's wife were taken sick simulaneously. Medical aid was summoned , but owing to the inclement weather did not reach them until the third day. The elder Mr. Palmer's illness developed into pneumonia, and died Sunday morning, Feb 19. He was 85 years, 11 months, and 17 days. Charles Palmer, the son, whose sickness was typhoid fever, died two days later, Feb 21, aged 23 years, 7 months, and 15 days. His wife is still suffering from typhoid fever, but is convalescing at this writing. Both the Senior and the Junior Palmer were highly respected and most worthy citizens. Jacob Palmer's funeral took place Tuesday Feb 21's; internment at St. James' church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mann and Lindaman. Charles Palmer's funeral occured on Wednesday, Feb 23. The remains were interred in the same cemetery, and Revs. Mann and Lindaman likewise officated.
