Mrs. Edward F. Poist 
Mrs. Adah Edna Poist, 85 wife of Edward F. Poist, 359 North St., McSherrystown, died Sunday 
afternoon at 3:20 o'clock in the Hanover Hospital where she had been a patient since June 5.

A daughter of the late Levi and Nancy (Mummert) Swartzbaugh, she was a member of the 
Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church of McSherrystown. 
Surviving in addition to her husband are eight children: Mrs. Milton Sterner, Hanover; Mrs. 
Cletus E. Krumrine, Westminster, R. 2; Mrs. Vincent A. Walter, South Lebanon O.; Rodney A. 
Poist, Pittsburgh; Ralph B. Posit, Baltimore; Albert J. Poist, McSherrystown; Richard F. Poist, 
Hanover and William L. Poist, Philadelphia.  Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning with a meeting at the Walter Funeral Home, 
McSherrystown, at 8:30 to go to Annunciation of the B. V. M. Church for the requiem Mass at 9 
o'clock at which the Rev. Fr,. Thomas Lawler will officiate. Interment will be in the 
Annunciation Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home, with the 
Rosary to be recited there Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock.

Mrs. Edward Poist

Mrs. Adah Edna Poist, 85, wife of Edward F. Poist, 359 North Street, 
McSherrystown died yesterday at 3:20 p.m. at the Hanover General Hospital, where 
she was a patient since June 6.  Mrs. Poist was a daughter of the late Levi and 
Nancy Mummert Swartzbaugh.  She was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed 
Virgin Mary Church, McSherrystown.  In addition to her husband, she is survived 
by five sons and three daughters, Mrs. Milton Sterner and Richard F. Poist, 
Hanover; Mrs. Cletus Krumrine, Westminster R. D. 2, Md.; Mrs. Vincent A. Walter, 
South Lebanon, Ohio; Rodney A. Poist, Pittsburgh; Ralph B. Point, Baltimore; 
Albert J. Poist, McSherrystown, and William J. Poist, Philadelphia; 15 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  The funeral service will be held 
Wednesday with prayers at 8:30 a.m. at the Walter funeral home, McSherrystown.  
The Rev. Thomas Lawler will celebrate a requiem mass at 9 a.m. at Annunciation 
Church.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral 
home tomorrow.  The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
