Sterling, Brown county, Illinois, Jan. 24. Death was due to infirmities, the deceased being 82 years, 9 months and 10 days old. Mrs. Rang was born in Hessen, Germany, April 14, 1833, and when a young girl she came to America with her parents, who settled in this section. On Jan. 29, 1850, just 66 years ago, she was married to Michael Rang, a native of Lorraine, France, who had a number of years prior emigrated to America and settled near Spring Grove, York County. Six years after their marriage they moved to Ipava, Illinois, where they resided for a number of years, later moving to Mt. Sterling. Mr. Rang died in 1903 at the age of 83 years. The deceased is survived by five sons – Henry Rang, of McSherrystown; Nathan Rang, Ferdinand Rang, William Rang, of Mt. Sterling, Illinois; Jacob Rang, of Rushville, Ill,; four daughters: Venerable Sister M. Adelia, of Michigan City, Ind.; Venerable Sister M. Alodia, of Chipewa Falls, Wis.; Mrs. Carson Jones, of Buffs, Ill., and Mrs. William Mathelu, of Canton, Ill. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, February 5, 1916
