All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ Valentine Scheivert Valentine Scheivert died suddenly at his late home in Union township, Adams Co., at 5 a.m. Thursday, Mar. 16, following a stroke of paralysis received Wednesday evening. He was aged 83 years, 9 months and 11 days. The deceased was a son of the late John Scheivert and wife, and was born in Germany, coming to America with his parents when a child. They settled in Adams county, where the remainder of his life was spent. While living retired at the present time, Mr. Scheivert lead an active life, having carried on brick-making, butchering and farming at various times, until compelled to give up work on account of advancing years. He was married to Miss Agnes Christman, of near Brushtown, Adams county, 54 years ago, who survives, with the following children: John Scheivert, of No. 412 York street; Charles Scheivert, of Union township; George Scheivert, of Conowago township; Valentine, Jr., James and Lewis Scheivert, of Glen Riddle, Delaware county; Mrs. Jonas Myers, of near Union Mills, Md.; Mrs. William Reichart, of Center schoolhouse; Mrs. Joseph Henderson and Mrs. Agnes Heltzel, of York. Also, one sister, Sister Cecelia, of St. Francis Convent, Glen Riddle. Funeral, Monday, March 20, requiem high mass in St. Joseph’s church, Hanover, at 9 a.m. Very Rev. James A. Huber officiating.
