She had passed away during the night, evidently without a sign of any kind, because there had been no intimation during the night of suffering on her part. She had retired in her usual state of health. Dr. H. S. Crouse who was summoned, pronounced her death due to an attack of heart trouble. The deceased was aged 66 years, 11 months and 2 days. Mrs. Schildt was Sophia Sacks, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Sacks, near Baltimore. With her husband she had been living near White Hall for the past 18 years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran church. Besides her husband she is survived by five sons and daughters, as follows: Mrs. Harvey Rittase, of East King street; Edward Schildt, of York; Mrs. Blaine Bixler, of White Hall; Mrs. Dennis Bucher, of Two Taverns, and Charles D. Schildt, at home. Six grandchildren also survive and one brother and two sisters as follows: E. P. Sacks, Gettysburg; Mrs. Alexander Sheely, York; and Mrs. Howard Frock, Harrisburg. The funeral was held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Brief services were conducted at the house and further obsequies at St. Luke’s Church. Rev. I. M. Lau, of Catawissa (?), former pastor at that place –--remainder cut off--- Adams County Independent, Thursday, October 20, 1922
