Mrs. Emma R. Shadle, wife of Mr. Frank L. Shadle, of Cemetery avenue, died at 
10:30 o’clock Wednesday morning from a complication of diseases.  Since last 
March the deceased was confined to a chair, being unable to be in a reclining 
position.  She was aged 52 years, 1 month and 15 days, and is survived by her 
husband and the following children:  William Shadle, of near town; Mrs. Harry 
Flickinger, of Hanover; Harry, John, Roger, Helen, Richard and Joseph, at home.  
Also by her father, Mr. Lewis Haifley, of Union Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Milton 
Bish, of Union Mills, and Mrs. Delia Houck, of Hanover, and two brothers, 
Franklin Haifley, of Westminster, and Robert Haifley, of York.  Funeral this 
Saturday morning; services at the house at 10 o’clock, Rev. Samuel Strain 
officiating.  Interment in Mt. Carmel cemetery.
