Mr. Robert Sheads, the oldest native born citizen of Gettysburg, died Monday 
morning at his home on Seminary Ridge from the infirmities of old age.  Death 
occurred at 4:30.  Mr. Sheads passed his 84th birthday February of this year.  
Mr. Sheads has lived in Gettysburg practically all his life.  He was engaged in 
various kinds of business.  For some time he and the late Col. C. H. Buehler 
were associated in the stove business.  Mr. Sheads' wife died about four years 
ago.  He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Salome Culp of Chambersburg.
