Sheely, a well-known farmer, of near Black’s School House, died at 12:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Death was due to diabetes from which ailment he had been suffering for some time past. He was aged 79 years, 5 months and 28 days. Mr. Sheely was born near Littlestown, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney Sheely. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Annie Motter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Motter. Eight children also survive, as follows: Miss Minnie, Reading; Howard, near Blacks; Elder, of Lumber street; Franklin, Luther and David, Illinois; Harvey, of Philadelphia, and Dennis, New York. The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Augustus Riffle, of East King street; Mrs. Daniel Basehoar, of McSherrystown, and Mrs. Luther Emmert, Hanover. The funeral was held this Thursday morning with brief services at the house at 9:30 o’clock, and further services at Redeemer’s Reformed church, this place, Rev. Dr. F. S. Lindaman officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Carmel cemetery. Adams County Independent, Littlestown, Adams Co., PA, March 24, 1922
