Sherman, for many years a prosperous farmer of Two Taverns, Adams county, and a prominent citizen of that section, died April 8th, following a short illness caused by acute indigestion. He was aged 54 years, 4 months and 28 days. Mr. Sherman was born and raised in Adams county, a son of George Sherman, who survives, together with his wife, formerly Miss Alverta Fissel, and these children: Mrs. Thomas Newman, Two Taverns; Miss Elsie Sherman, Gettysburg; Mrs. John Grove, York; Guy Sherman, Peach Glen, and the following at home, Bessie, Mary, Claude, Goldie, Sarah, Zona and Paul Sherman. He also leaves two brothers and five sisters, Jacob T. Sherman, Mrs. J. L. Hahn, Mrs. A. R. Little, and Mrs. John W. Spangler, Two Taverns, George Sherman and Mrs. William Collins, Littlestown; Mrs. John A. Geesey, New Oxford. Mr. Sherman was active in Republican politics and held various township offices. He was a candidate for sheriff at the primary last Fall. Funeral Monday afternoon, meeting at the house at 1 o’clock. Services and interment at Grace church, Two Taverns.
