Death of a Veteran

John J. Shultz died at the home of his son, Charles Shultz, near McKnightstown, 
Saturday, October 5th, aged 80 years, 2 months and 5 days.

Mr. Shultz was a veteran of the Civil war, serving in the 21st Pennsylvania 
Cavalry, under Lieut. Buchner.  He is survived by five children; ?? 
grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The children are:  Mrs. Annie Funt, Arendtsville; Mrs. John Staub, Fair avenue, 
Hanover; Chas. Shultz, McKnightstown; William Shultz, ???ville, Ill., and Mrs. 
Washington Hummer, Orrtanna.  Also by one brother, William Shultz, of Baltimore.

Funeral from his home Tuesday morning, interment at Flohr’s church.
