Death was due to the infirmities of old age. He was aged 92 years, 9 months and 24 days. He is survived by two sons, Jacob Spangler, at home, and Edward Spangler, of East King street. Three brothers, Barnhart and Jacob Spangler, of this place, and William Spangler, residing in the West, and one sister, Mrs. John Hoffman, near Gettysburg, and six grand children also survive. The funeral was held Wednesday morning. A brief service was held at the Spangler home at 10 o’clock and further services conducted in St. James’ Reformed church, Rev. Ralph S. Weiler officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Adams County Independent – Friday, December 30, 1921
